Meckerbet was a village in Cumbria, located near Whitehaven. The Grange estate was located there, 12-minute's walk from the main village. Polly Wright and Ben Jackson walked through the village on 8 July 1994, visiting the local McDonald's and W H Smith, before returning to the Grange. (PROSE: Invasion of the Cat-People)
