Mel Joseph was one of the fictional characters created by Jason after he was made Master of the Land of Fiction. He was written to be a compulsive gamesman. The Seventh Doctor used him to communicate with Jason, asking for him, Ace and Bernice Summerfield to be released from the Land. (PROSE: Conundrum)
