According to the Monks, the Memory Crimes Act of 1975 forbade the manufacture and possession of propaganda intended to undermine the "True History" during their occupation of Earth in the late 2010s. In reality, no such act was passed in that year as the Monks had only been on the planet for six months. Jane Bishop was arrested for contravening the Memory Crimes Act by the Memory Police.
