Merlin's Helm was the control device for the Avalon nanotechnology system and the integrated stellar manipulator which was used to send the planet's sun supernova. The wearer could create almost anything they could imagine. If worn by a cephlie, the race that made it, the Helm operated normally. But if a human wore it, their mind would be destroyed after only a short period of usage, since it was not designed for humans. (PROSE: The Sorcerer's Apprentice)
