Merton Jones
Merton Jones was a student of the papers of Albert Foxglove at [[St Simeon's College. He went to see the archivist who was the War Master in disguise. He spent his time reading through the poetry and translations which he thought was bad, and the Master told him that he also sanitised them. He was curious about the cylinders in the collection. After Anthony Bagshot thought that the cylinder was a musical recording, he heard a strange sound on it. Returning them to the Master, he thought he was being expelled before he was asked to help in his research. The Master then got him ridiculed so that he could get him to be his assistant. He started to obsess over the translations and zoned out of all conversations to do it. He theorised that this was a communication device across time and tried to answer the question he thought was being asked.
