Minervan was the common language of the Minerva system. It enabled the radically distinct species of the system to have a common tongue. When he was briefly incarcerated at the Yendip Internment Centre on Yquatine, Fitz chose to learn Minervan, rather than deal with the unusually complicated Yquatine English.
