The Mitsubishi Ki-15 was a Japanese single-engine aircraft and bomber armed with machine guns on its wingtip, used by the Imperial Army Air Fleet while the Imperial Japanese forces were engaged in China during World War II.
In August 1937, a Ki-15 raided Shanghai with the assistance of a second aircraft. The Fourth Doctor, Romana I, K9, Sung-Chi Li and Rondo were among those caught in the raid while KMT anti-aircraft machine guns tried to shoot down the attackers. The Ki-15's wing clipped off a rooftop at the end of the raid, sending it crashing to the ground in flames before its remaining bombload detonated, killing the pilot.
