The Near East Crisis was the name given by The Times to what the Brigadier described as a "three-cornered quarrel between Russia, America, and China" concerning a sphere of influence, the crisis having flared up in the Near East in the late 20th century. The crisis threatened to bring about World War III before being settled by a World Peace Conference.
