Nemeqit was a sentient planet known for its desolation.
Bernice Summerfield, Ruth, and Jack visited the planet due to a distress signal, leading them to discover that the planet was actually alive and using the last of its energy to raise two new planet creatures. While incubating in a dome on the planet, the two offspring were humanoid and called themselves Bel and Lud. (AUDIO: A Handful of Dust)
