A nootropic volcano "loomed" over the glass plains of Aurichall. It was constantly erupting due to the "tectonic grinding of rival noospheres" and spewed out the Cyberon drug in its natural state, thus being the origin of the Cyberons as a "naturally-occurring conversion engine". The philosopher-king of the Cyberons "stood spitefully" at the peak of the volcano, near which the First City stood. (PROSE: The Blue Scream of Death)
