Norma was recommended by Señor 105 to replace him in lighting the Olympic Cauldron with the Olympic Flame at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City when his investigations alongside Iris Wildthyme and Panda meant that he was unable to do so himself. President Gustavo protested as a woman had never lit the Olympic cauldron before, but 105 countered this by suggesting that as this was the first Olympic games to be hosted in Latin America it could also be the first to have a woman light the flame. Norma Enriqueta Basilio de Sotelo was a real person and became the first woman to light the Olympic cauldron during the 1968 Olympics.
