An Oil Apocalypse occurred on Earth in the 21st century, a few decades after the year 2025 according to the Eleventh Doctor (PROSE: Horror of the Space Snakes) and before 2059, when Adelaide Brooke cited it to the Tenth Doctor as being part of the past forty years of "chaos".
