Parable of the sower
The parable of the sower was, according to Charles Torby, a message found in the thirteenth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. The Reverend Mr William Macksey commended it to the younger man over a glass of tawny port after a particularly "excellent" Christmas Eve meal. (PROSE: The Sleep of Reason)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
The book never goes into any detail about the parable, other than its location in Matthew. It's not even particularly clear why Macksey introduces it into the conversation. Unlike the general convention in most Christian sources, author Martin Day does not choose to capitalise the term as "Parable of the Sower", but instead leaves it all in ordinary sentence case.
