A particle suppressor was a deflector shield and weapon developed by the Silurians and installed upon their battlecruisers.
When fired upon by enemy weapons, the particle suppressor could deflect the energy and neutralise them. The suppressor could also destroy the attacking ship. (TV: Warriors of the Deep)
