Pastcanopic jars, or pastcanopic vessels, were jars whose specific, glittering crystalline structure had an effect of temporal stasis on their contents. Vampires who could only feed on blood freshly taken from a live victim sometimes used them to keep a supply of blood as fresh as the moment it was taken. (PROSE: The Bloodletters)
