Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

In Paul's universe everything was the same as it was in the Doctor's universe, except Paul's wife, and children Molly and Lisa, had been killed in a car crash. In the Doctor's universe, they had survived this same crash, with Paul being the one who was killed.

After the Battle of Canary Wharf in 2007, UNIT recovered a damaged Reality Gate which had been used by the Cybermen. Paul began to restore it in secret. After the car crash killed his family in 2013 Paul loaded probes with his family's DNA and sent them into the Void to locate a universe in which his family were still alive. He arrived in the Docror's universe in 2014.

This travel across the multiverse caught the attention of the Fractures, natives of the Void who believed they had to drag anyone contaminated with Void stuff into the Void to protect reality from unravelling. In their pursuit of Paul the Fractures possessed many people, and further damaged the reality of the Doctor's universe.

Recruiting UNIT, Kate Stewart and the Fosters' help, the Twelfth Doctor and Clara opened the Void, drawing the Fractures back inside and freeing their victims. Clara's insisted that the Doctor allow the alternate Paul to join his family in their own universe. He agreed, knowing that the Fractures would now be after him instead of Paul.
