Peter Hamilton's father
From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Peter Hamilton's father was killed in a Dalek war. (TV: Death to the Daleks)
During the Exxilon Gambit, the final act of the Third Dalek War, (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters) Peter voiced his opposition to the Third Doctor's proposed truce with the Daleks because of his father's death, although he quickly relented out of necessity. (TV: Death to the Daleks)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- In Death to the Daleks, Peter states his father was killed in "the last Dalek war". As The Secret Lives of Monsters places the events of the story within the Third Dalek War, it is therefore likely that his father was a casualty of the Second Dalek War, which took place during the same period. (PROSE: The Chase) A History of the Universe and aHistory date Death to the Daleks to 2600, and The Dalek Handbook likewise agrees on the 27th century. This fits the possible time scale for the death of Peter's father, as it is known that the Second Dalek War began in 2540 (TV: Frontier in Space) and lasted around 40 years (PROSE: Prisoner of the Daleks)
