Peter Ware was an assistant editor for Doctor Who Magazine from at least issue 388 in 2007, where he reviewed Doctor Who episodes as part of the Time Team. By 2016, he was the deputy editor of Doctor Who Magazine. He was editor of issue 515 alongside Tom Spilsbury and Richard Atkinson. He was again deputy editor under editor Marcus Hearn from issue 516 in 2017 until issue 597 in 2023, after which he was succeeded by Richard Atkinson.
He was also a frequent research contributor to documentaries on BBC DVDs of serials from the 1963 version of Doctor Who.
He was credited for his "invaluable assistance and generosity" in It's Even Bigger on the Inside alongside many others.
