Platform slipper

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

In the Daft Dimension, platform slippers were a type of slipper worn by some individuals in the 1970s to make themselves appear taller even as they went to lay down for the night. Dez Skinn owned a pair of them by 1979, wearing them on the night he decided to sleep on the notion of pitching a Doctor Who comic book to British publishers.
