Polyot-one, named for the Russian word for "flight", was an early spacecraft launched in November 1963 by the Soviet Union. The spaceship was “maneouverable sideways and up and down". It was successfully first placed an initial orbit 329 miles above the Earth, then transferred into a "final orbit" with an apogee of 893 miles. (PROSE: The Shoreditch Incident)
