Priestly was head of the rebel forces against General Mariah Learman's government. He was concerned about returning Shakespeare to the nation, but as the Daleks' rule became more tangible and history changed, he tried to remove the Dalek hold over history. He tried to kill them by making the nuclear reactor in Learman's palace overload, but the Daleks stopped this and exterminated him. (AUDIO: The Time of the Daleks)
