The Primer for the Spiral Politic was an encyclopedia that had a "Post-War Edition" released in the post-War universe. (AUDIO: The Eleven Day Empire, et al.) The Post-War Primer was full of information and perspectives from the archives of the Needle, much of which was well known on message boards of the era. Some information on the War in Heaven was removed from the Primer by the Emperor's censors. (PROSE: A Prelude to a Prelude)

The Post-War edition included entries on Faction Paradox, (AUDIO: The Eleven Day Empire) the Sontarans, (AUDIO: The Shadow Play) Sabbath Dei, (AUDIO: Sabbath Dei) the Munificent Army of Peking, (AUDIO: In the Year of the Cat) the Blood Coteries, (AUDIO: Movers) Mr Smith, (AUDIO: A Labyrinth of Histories) the War King, (AUDIO: Sabbath and the King) and the Peace.
