Beatrice was one of the five daughters and nine children of Queen Victoria and her cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg, whom were all born in the 18 years following their wedding in 1840. Along with her sister Alice and her brother Leopold, Beatrice inherited the disease haemophilia from her mother. (PROSE: The Time Traveller's Almanac)
