Princess Helena of the United Kingdom

Princess Helena (PROSE: Pride of Mayfield Star Lines Beached in Devastating Storm) was one of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's five daughters; (TV: Tooth and Claw) however, unlike her sisters Alice and Beatrice, and her brother Leopold, she did not carry the Royal Disease. (PROSE: The Time Traveller's Almanac)

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

In Torchwood House 1879, when Rose Tyler apologised for being "naked", Queen Victoria forgave her as she was accustomed to the sight given she had five daughters. (TV: Tooth and Claw)

The Princess Helena officially launched the commercial steamer Elysium in Manchester (PROSE: Pride of Mayfield Star Lines Beached in Devastating Storm) during the ship's christening (PROSE: The Elysium) in the summer of 1887. (PROSE: Enthusiastic Amateur Diver Shares His Discoveries With You!)

She, and her other siblings, married into royal and noble families across Europe. (PROSE: A History of Humankind) Queen Victoria ultimately had little faith in her children, (AUDIO: The Victorian Age) all of whom she raised no differently than she did Duleep Singh. (AUDIO: Fortitude)

Legacy[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Princess Helena's launching of the Elysium was mentioned in an article by The Manchester Guardian on 18 July 1888 about the Elysium's crash the previous day. This article would later be transcribed by the North West Historical Society and posted their website in the 2010s. (PROSE: Pride of Mayfield Star Lines Beached in Devastating Storm)

Family[[edit] | [edit source]]

Princess Helena had many siblings, including Edward, (AUDIO: The Death of Captain Jack, etc.) Alice, Beatrice, Leopold, (PROSE: The Time Traveller's Almanac) and Victoria. (AUDIO: The Sonomancer)
