Questioning was the act of being asked questions by an authoritive force, such as the police.

By 6 March 2006, Mickey Smith had been brought in for questioning by the police five times, despite their lack of evidence. (TV: Aliens of London [+]Loading...["Aliens of London (TV story)"]) Presumably following the fifth occasion, he wrote on Who is Doctor Who? about his unjust questioning by the police, giving up trying to convince them of his innocence given they dismissed the evidence he found to clear his name, and also began fearing being arrested for good.
