Rachel was the receptionist and duty manager at the hotel at which the Eighth Doctor was recruiting a new companion in 2010. She said that she couldn't refund room cancellations. She helped the Doctor by giving information about the robots in London. The Doctor offered to take her on as his companion, but she was happy with her job, and had no desire for travelling.
