A relative dimensional computer was a component of TARDISes. The relative dimensional computer of the Doctor's TARDIS malfunctioned (or, as the Fourth Doctor put it to Sarah Jane Smith, the steering went out), causing the ship to go back forty-five hundred million years into Earth's past.
