Reno was a colonist on Komoko. She was in charge of a mining operation. She was the Marshall. She arrested the Fifth Doctor and Nyssa for looting. She tried to convince the Doctor that his friend Velar had left the planet, but in fact ordered his death. She was a former soldier. She had Velar killed due to old predjudices against his race. She thought that Velar was stealing their minerals, but both mines were spent, so her order went too far. The miners revolted against her and handed her over to the authorities.
