Reverend Marcus was a character who was intended to appear in the sequel to The Ladykillers, played by actor Alec Guinness. Marcus would have been the leader of a gang of conmen who would have targeted Mrs Wilberforce after she had purchased a grander house with the money she had received in the first film.
