Reynolds was Doctor Henry Jellicoe's "fanatically loyal" butler by 1885. One possibility was that, during their investigation into Jellicoe's activity, the Time Lord Rollo and his companions attempted to break into Jellicoe's house, only to be apprehended by Reynolds, who informed them that he himself had no knowledge of his master's whereabouts before escorting them off the premises.
