Doctor Richard Sterling was the uncle of Brian Sterling and was determined to find a cure for his nephew's CGD, so determined that he went to the extent of creating a clone of Brian, Jonah Sterling, to help cure his illness. He was defeated when the Eighth Doctor took Jonah away.
Near the end of his life, Sterling refused a heart transplant. (PROSE: Jonah)
