Ringo Starr (Slow Decay)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Ringo Starr, most often simply called Ringo and named after the Beatles member of the same name, was the name which Jack Harkness gave to an alien tapeworm which infected the Scotus Clinic receptionist.

Following a wave of clients turning psychotic, Scotus trialled a new medication plan on his receptionist. The new tablets contained a hormone which slowed the growth of the parasites. However, when she missed taking a tablet, Ringo reacted, crawling out of her throat and hiding in ventilation system. Scotus abandoned both her and his clinic.

Ringo attacked Gwen Cooper when she was investigating the office of Dr Scotus at the clinic. Jack stapled Ringo to the receptionist's desk using a Rexel stapler. Ringo broke free while Jack and Gwen were examining the body of Scotus' receptionist; as it launched itself at Jack, he pulled out his Webley Revolver and shot it.

Ringo was black with irregular vivid blue stripes encircling its body; Jack named it Ringo because they looked like blue rings. It was flat on three sides, with white fibres at the termination of each of its three sections which it used to anchor itself. When it moved, it made the sound of crumpling paper. (PROSE: Slow Decay)
