Ringpull

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

The Ringpull was a cosmic phenomenon that separated the universe from the Obverse. (PROSE: Wildthyme Beyond! [+]Loading...["Wildthyme Beyond! (novel)"])

There were a number of contradictions as to the nature of the Ringpull. It was first described[who?] as region of disputed space containing a link to the Obverse itself, as well as a number of planets, the most notable being Valcea. (PROSE: The Blue Angel [+]Loading...["The Blue Angel (novel)"])

In its next appearance it was the main goal of the villainous Anthony Marvelle, who sought to gain access to the Obverse and plunder its secrets. This version of the Ringpull was shown to be far less accessible than its previous incarnation. Only Euphemia, the original Scarlet Empress, was capable of opening it. Despite its limited history of entry, a number of beings, such as Iris Wildthyme, had used the Ringpull to freely exit the Obverse and escape into the universe beyond. Far later, after a catastrophe, it was again used by other fleeing refugees of the Clockworks who transported some of themselves and a fraction of their home to Hyspero.

After Iris and her friends journeyed to Hyspero in order to foil Marvelle's plans, it was revealed that the mechanism to unlock the Ringpull was stored in a simple maintenance cupboard onboard a space station in orbit of Hyspero. The ability to reopen it was lost upon the death of the Scarlett Empress. (PROSE: Wildthyme Beyond! [+]Loading...["Wildthyme Beyond! (novel)"])
