River Tees

A river existed in Middlesbrough. A bridge was visible, being built over it.

History[[edit] | edit source]

During World War 2, a German pilot was flying over Middlesbrough in during a cool Summer night, however he crashed into a Q'Dhite Mind-Treader, and they both sank to the bottom of the river.

In the 1990s, Alex Evening, a troubled boy he grew up with years of abuse from his Christian mother, Janice, found what he initially thought was a toy, that washed up on the shore. He took it home, to find that was the Mind-Treader, which could build a world of his design.

Not long after, the Doctor, Colonel Muriel Frost and UNIT were investigating the UFO, the Q'Dhite Mind-Treader, and they pulled the pilot and the wreckage of the plane from the bottom of the river. (COMIC: Evening's Empire)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | edit source]

While it was left unnamed in COMIC: Evening's Empire, the river was clearly the River Tees, and the bridge over it was the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge.

Though it's possible that a real world location doesn't exist in the same geographic space in the Doctor Who universe, such cases are few and far between. Thus, the map to the right is probably a good indicator of the DWU location of River Tees.
