Roderick Purton
Roderick Purton was a local historian with whom Allison Williams discussed the history of St Anton's Point in 1965. He told her about the curse that caused people to go mad. He was an air raid warden during World War II and used the privileges to steal from people whilst shelter. Under the influence of the concentrated magnetic field which was cracked during an air raid, he was caught in the act of stealing by Mrs Jefferies and killed her in cold blood. He regretted his actions and afterwards spent his time researching the curse. Hearing from Ian Gilmore that inside the new housing block he could encounter a version of Jefferies and absolve his guilt by dying when the bomb that would have killed her exploded.[statement unclear] (AUDIO: The Concrete Cage)
