Sam Sonora
Sam Sonora was the first man to have the Gift.

Born circa 1872, Sam panned for gold in the High Sierra. In the autumn of 1905, he heard and gained the Gift, which he used to create money. A month later, the Gift had become a curse and he gave it to Pepé Gonzalez, who almost killed him for it. Sam was left old and grey.
By April 1906, Sam was preaching the end of the world on the streets of San Francisco, the ring of the Gift still in his head and making him follow. He met the Eighth Doctor and finished his haircut whilst telling him about the Gift, after which they felt the gift being transferred from Gonzalez to Charles Virgil McLean and went after him. He helped the Doctor capture him and was finally able to have peace when the Gift was transferred to the Doctor's TARDIS. (AUDIO: The Gift)
