The Sanctuary of Stars was the worship centre on the planet that worshipped the Eternal Machine.
The Santuary of Stars was the location in which initiates were brought to begin their journey to the stars. Golden doors led to the area that the initiates entered.
When the Third Doctor exposed the religion as a lie, it was discovered that the Machine, in reality an alien, was located behind the golden doors. The Sanctuary of Stars was burned down in the chaos that followed the Doctor's announcement. (PROSE: The Discourse of Flies)
