The Sclaponians were an "attractive" race that the Doctor had encountered before or during his third incarnation, he once day-dreamt about the wife of the Sclaponian Grand Vizier. While daydreaming, the Doctor nearly lost a leg to Sclaponian Dragonfly. However, it would be even more dangerous to attempt a union with any Sclaponian, no matter how permanent.
