Sean Casey was a deserter from the British Army during World War I. He didn't want to go back to the Viyrans. His arm turned into glass, he suffered from time jumps, and eventually washed out of existence, according to the Eighth Doctor. However, he managed to get to the Doctor's TARDIS and gained the powers to revive the dead. (AUDIO: The White Room)
