Shoulder band

(Redirected from Shoulder ring)

The shoulder sections of Dalek casings were supported by bands, sometimes also called rings.

Early Dalek models such as the Skaro City Daleks and the Dalek Earthforce had two middle section bands, one above the manipulator arm and gunstick and one connecting the middle section to the lower section. (TV: The Daleks, The Dalek Invasion of Earth) The later silver Daleks had a ring of slats over the top band. These early bands were coloured silver, including on higher-ranking Daleks such as the saucer commander, Elite Guard Daleks, and the Black Dalek Leader. (TV: The Chase, The Dalek Invasion of Earth, The Evil of the Daleks)

The smaller middle section of the Dalek Prime's Emperor Type 2 casing sported gold bands. (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide)

The Dalek Prime Strategist, who was distinguished in the Restoration Empire by his aged Skaro City Dalek casing, had silver bands on a rusted middle section. (PROSE: The Guide to the Dark Times)

In the bronze Daleks, the band which connected the middle weapons platform to the lower base unit was coloured bronze for the majority. However, on some bronze Daleks, such as the "Metaltron", the band was gold. (TV: Dalek, Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways) This minority of bronze Daleks shared this trait with the red-and-gold Supreme Daleks. (COMIC: Ambush, TV: The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar)

Modified Skaro City Daleks which existed in the reconstructed Dalek City in the post-Time War universe had silver bands on light blue middle sections. (TV: The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar)
