Emperor Type 2
At an early stage in Dalek history, the original Dalek Emperor used a casing with a bulbous dome section with a spike at the top. (COMIC: Invasion of the Daleks) It was designated the "Emperor Type 2" by the Dalek Survival Guide, who were going off of Annual Reports from the 1960s. (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide)
Characteristics[[edit] | [edit source]]
This casing was golden, with an enlarged spherical dome section atop a shortened middle section and a lower section with three rows of golden sense globes. Its eye stalk had red insulator discs, while its middle section sucker arm and gun were white; as the Emperor's Daleks did not widely use slats at the time, the middle section merely sported gold bands. It had seven medium-sized luminosity dischargers arranged around the back half of the dome, which flashed red, and a single spike jutting out from its apex. (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide, COMIC: Invasion of the Daleks) The text of the Dalek Survival Guide claimed its eye lens "iris" was "solid white", (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide) but its own illustration and another source concurred that the lens actually had a black "pupil", (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide, COMIC: Invasion of the Daleks) and one account showed that the lens was blue. (COMIC: Invasion of the Daleks)
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Golden Emperor bore this casing when he addressed a crowd of Dalek officers in the Great Council Chamber on the eve of the 2400s Dalek invasion of the solar system. (COMIC: Invasion of the Daleks) However, by the time of Jeff Stone's odyssey through the Dalek City, the Emperor had returned to the spike-less casing (COMIC: City of the Daleks) originally built for him by the dying Yarvelling and Zolfian as the "Emperor's Machine". (COMIC: Genesis of Evil)
This casing type was documented in "Annual Reports" which found their way to the 1960s. This allowed it to be documented in the Dalek Survival Guide where it was dubbed the "Emperor Type 2" casing type. (PROSE: Dalek Survival Guide)
