Skale was a planet inhabited by humanoids who were physiologically similar to the Time Lords; they had two hearts. Skale had a neighbouring planet named Haltiel.
The planet was divided into parallels, which were like countries. There were at least sixty-seven parallels, all of which were hostile to each other. The Northern Waters was an ocean on Skale that bordered Parallel 59. Great City was the capital of Parallel 59. (PROSE: Parallel 59)
