Solan
Solan was a criminal kingpin on Sere. An extremely obese human, Solan was an extreme pragmatist with an extremely malevolent soul.
While on Sere, Solan became one of the most powerful forces within the small asteroid. Eight years before the events of Sky Pirates!, Solan stole the Elysian Eye while it was being evacuated from the citadel of Marloon. He financed most of the going-ons in the small asteroid and this included supplying the pirate captain Nathan li Shao with ships and crews. After attacking a Sloathe freighter captained by Trenkor Lep, Nathan returned to Sere and convinced Solan to finance voyages to rebuild the trade routes destroyed by the Sloathes.
Unbeknownst to Nathan, Solan was working with Sekor Dom Sloathe. Using the psychic abilities of a degenomancer named Mr. Glome, Solan found out about Nathan's plans to find the Eyes of the Schirron and briefly held Nathan and the crew of his new ship the Schirron Dream hostage. These plans were derailed by the Seventh Doctor (who had arrived in the System alongside Bernice Summerfield, Roz Forrester, and Chris Cwej after he accidentally materialized the TARDIS inside of a reality bomb) and the Dream's crew was able to escape. Solan attempted to have a Sloathe fleet chase after them but the Doctor helped Nathan fire up the Dream's engines and escape the Ring entirely.
Once the Sloathes took over Sere, Solan tried to escape but injured himself in the process and was captured by the Sloathes. He was brought before Sekor Dom and was nearly killed but was able to convince the vizier that he could help the Sloathes collect the Eyes of the Schirron. Though Sekor did not kill Solan, hir did inject him with Sloathe microspores. Shortly after this, Solan guided the Sloathe fleets into mining out the icy wastes of Reklon. After several months, the Sloathes and their slaves discovered the Reklonian Eye. Shortly after this, Solan and Sekor set off to capture the crew of the Schirron Dream (who had already collected the other Eyes).
To capture the Dream's crew, Solan and the Sloathes hid in the citadel of Marloon and waited for Nathan and his crew to arrive. Once they did, Solan had them captured and forced the Doctor and a Elysian named Goma to hold the Reklonian and Elysian Eyes. This caused Goma to be aged to death by the energies of the Eye she was holding (something which greatly angered the Doctor). While the Dream travelled to the Sun (where legend held the Eyes should be placed), the Doctor attempted to destroy the Dream as a last resort to stop Solan and Sekor. This failed and the Dream was struck by a bolt of the Charon's energy while it approached. This brought it down to the surface of the Sun and influenced Sekor and Solan to bring the Eyes to the center of the Sun. Once inside the center, the two stopped being useful to the Charon and were killed - with Solan having his heart stopped while Sekor's body was crushed. (PROSE: Sky Pirates!)
