Somnoid

The Somnoid was a powerfully telepathic creature that fed off the subconscious brain activity that occurred during sleep which it could induce in others with its mental powers. It boastfully proclaimed that “the awoken fear it and the dreamers nourish it” and it was capable of inducing sleep over whole planets. With its food supply cut off, it reverted to its natural state, that of small blue squid-like creature, that was easily manageable. (COMIC: The Planet That Slept)
