2) In the most recent issues, the Cybermen suddenly turn on the Borg and are now apparently on the verge of defeating their former allies. This just doesn't seem right to me. The Cybermen are powerful, but I never thought they were anything near as strong and dangerous as the Borg. ::We should probably wait until the rest of the story comes out before speculating on how the Doctor arrived in the Star Trek Universe. Of course in Star Trek, travel to parallel universes never became impossible, and all the series except ''Voyager'' featured travel between parallel universes. There are still things that haven't been explained though, like why the Doctor forgot about meeting Captain Kirk, and then suddenly remembered, or why he suddenly knew that Worf was a Klingon even though he had previously never heard of Klingons. It is possible that the Cybermen were somehow able to gain an advantage against the Borg through their alliance, or perhaps they are just more powerful. The Borg mostly rely on assimilation and never really seem to be particularly efficient at killing. I think the only episode where you see them use phaser-like weapons instead of walking slowly up to someone was in ''Descent''. The Cybermen have always been depicted as having some kind of ranged weapon, and if they were able to become immune to assimilation, they would have an upper hand against the Borg. We'll probably learn more next month though, when Picard and the Doctor talk to the Borg.[[User:Icecreamdif|Icecreamdif]] [[User talk:Icecreamdif|☎]] 13:57, September 28, 2012 (UTC) |
