: It's not the TARDIS. We can tell that normally sound travels from asteroid to asteroid, because of the rituals of the Sun Singers and the fact that there are no domes present on the two locations. It could be that there is an oxygen component envelope throughout the rings, a natural feature of the area. Or there is some other unmentioned in-narrative reason.
