The wiki states in one part that the children's stories the Doctor rattles off are stories from Gallifrey, yet in another section says "it's clear he's simply making up the titles." I'm inclined to believe the former, and it's anything but clear that he's making up the titles. It sounded like he was recalling stories from his own childhood, or maybe the stories he told his own son.
