Another theory suggests that Donna picked up the Ring, seeing as Donna wasn't present, she could've been possessed by the Ring and she could've then been the Midnight entity, with no memories when she returns. She could've passed the Master's consciousness into Sky, but that would mean the Master's dead. But they'll find a way around it.
