The [[Fifth Doctor]] and his companions [[Nyssa]] and [[Tegan Jovanka]] found the contractors [[Samuel Morton Peto]] and [[Thomas Grissell]] had been possessed by [[Sevakrill]]. He appealed to their [[human]] selves to break free and spent the next two weeks disposing of a missile they had placed inside the column by lowering it into the ground. By this time, the statue of [[Horatio Nelson]] was being added to its plinth. Tegan commented that it was more "tourist friendly" in [[1982]].
