*All Jenny's knowledge and abilities were given to her by the machine she was born in. This may include her gymnastics skills. It is never explained why the other soldiers do not have the same ability. ''This is more likely a time lord ability than a human one. The ninth doctor has a similar ability shown in "the end of the world" where he increases his perception so-as to dodge fast moving fan blades.''''

*It is not explained how Jenny would know how to fly a shuttle as the machines embedded military knowledge but not the knowledge of how to fly a space shuttle because the people had mythologised their own history making it unlikely they would have felt the need to know how to fly a shuttle. ''This may be an example of Jenny's Time Lord heritage. It was also never explicitly stated that the machines do not embed other knowledge.''

*Four apparent facts cannot all be true at once: (a) the war has only been going on for seven days; (b) General Cobb knows about The Source and its purpose only by hearsay passed on through the generations; (c) General Cobb is in his late forties or his fifties; and (d) offspring produced by the machine emerge with the bodies and personalities of human beings in their early twenties.  If Cobb is as old as he looks, he ought to have been a member of the original landing party, in which case he would know what the Source really is. ''Russell T Davies suggested in the pod cast for the episode that, as well as creating a child from a parent, the machines were be able to clone important figures. Therefore Cobb could be the fifth Cobb of that week or maybe the machine malfunctioned and he came out to old or maybe age is the sign of leaders in the future.''

*If the war had only been fought for seven days that implied that no soldiers from the human side have survived past seven days otherwise they would know what happened. This is implausible.''but not impossible just a bit unlikely and the machine could have not updated the original one with the date of how long th fight had been going on, or there were really bad tatics.''

*If both the Hath and the humans are in a military state and just want soldiers they have no reason to use sexual reproduction and instead use the pregenators. However, this implies you can use the same person to produce as many soldiers as you want as the problem of gene mutation is removed. It is possible to do this as it's referred that from Donna and the Doctor it would be possible to create an entire platoon.''

*It's unclear why the pregenerator would be set to create soldiers as it is a colonisation ship.''It is stated in the episode that the machine was set to create soildiers rather than colinists meaning it was altered''

*When Donna, Jenny and the Doctor are put in the cell no one searches them. This seems a major oversight. In addition to this the guard is standing right outside the door yet fails to hear the sonic screwdriver or the Doctor talking on his mobile phone. ''It does lend support to the theory that none of the humans or hath survived more than a few days because their tactics were rubbish.''

 

*Near the end of the episode, a softbox light can be seen inside the TARDIS, lighting the set. ''It could just be part of the many different things the doctor has collected in his TARDIS, like the hammer.''

*Why are the clones 'born' with clothes? ''Because this is a family programme. Also as the machines now create the clones for war it can be assumbed that it provides basic camoflage ''

* Even though it is just a small space shuttle Jenny seems surprisingly confident that she can travel the entire Universe with it. ''Again, her Time Lord nature might allow her to figure out things as she goes, possibly even enhancing the shuttle's capabilities. We also don't know what those capabilities are; if it has warp speed (which exists in the Whoniverse) or some other faster-than-light drive, she could only be hours away from a civilized planet.''

 

*The Doctor refers to the method of Jenny's creation as "not what [he calls] natural parentage". This is somewhat ironic, given that he was created [[loom|in much the same way]]. However, this is not really a discrepancy as the use of the Looms was necessitated by the [[Pythia]]'s curse, and that Gallifreyans would naturally reproduce sexually. ''By showing a young Master with the appearance of a child in ''[[The Sound of Drums]]'', the current production team may have shown that they do not consider the Looms to exist in official continuity. How this would tie in with the on-screen reference to the [[Cartmel Masterplan]] in ''[[Remembrance of the Daleks]]'' (where the Doctor implies that he was present at the creation of the [[Hand of Omega]]) would therefore be a new mystery in itself.''

* In the original first series the [[First Doctor]] was traveling with his granddaughter [[Susan Foreman]], who is to date the only relative of the [[Doctor]] to be seen on screen.  The Doctor's other two grandchildren [[John (Comic Strips)|John]] and [[Gillian (Comic Strips)|Gillian]] also appeared in some of the comic strips, although their canonicity is questioned.

*The Doctor mentions his family, his family is first mentioned in [[DW]]: ''[[The Tomb of the Cybermen]]'' also in ''[[Delta and the Bannermen]]'', his granddaughter first appeared on screen in [[DW]]: ''[[An Unearthly Child]]'' which was the first ever episode, he has a brother who first appeared in [[NA]]: ''[[Theatre of War]]'' (mentioned on screen in [[DW]]: ''[[Smith and Jones]]''), an (adoptive) daughter who first appeared in [[EDA]]: ''[[Father Time]]'' and a wife [[DW]]: ''[[Blink]]'', [[PDA]]: ''[[The Infinity Doctors]]''/[[MA]]: ''[[Cold Fusion]]'', he has cousins who appeared in [[Lungbarrow]].
